back in 2003,  i decided to rekindle my passion for soccer and joined the vancouver based club ‘bombastic fc’. i’m not sure if the exercise outweighed the beer consumption, but i do know i made a host of fantastic friends… and one of those is our client wendy!

aside from soccer, wendy and i share a passion for travel and collecting pottery + housewares along the way.  you will notice the influence of wendy’s many trips to morocco in the design of her new kitchen & powder room, as well as a few keepsakes from her recent trip to ‘my island’ of paros, greece.

the nature of wendy’s pottery collection led us to a rich, warm undertone in our design selections. we chose natural walnut for the base cabinetry & accents, painted the uppers in benjamin moore’s ‘soft chamois’ and selected caeserstone ‘ginger’ for the quartz countertops. the backsplash is a glossy ceramic arabesque pattern, hand thrown in mexico from world mosaic tile.

we used a bold pattern on the floor of the tiny powder/shower room and a large scale hex porcelain on the walls…. yes, large pattern in a small room is all good! the floor tile is from the hydraulic collection by apavisa and the wall tiles are durastone’s matte luna hexagon. we carried in the natural walnut for the vanity, a vintage mid century modern mirror from ‘by design modern’ and topped it off with jonathan adler’s ‘havana’ sconce. wendy found a vintage vancouver bus scroll at ‘the found + freed’ and a basket of greek towels to personalize her space.
